Millo

Gaetano Millo (Turin, 2 December 1774 – Battle of the Mincio, 8 February 1814)


Formerly a Piedmontese artillery lieutenant, he entered Cisalpine service as a lieutenant 1st class in 1797, was promoted to captain 1st class in 1798, then to battalion chief on 7 July 1803. He was made a major in the horse artillery on 2 February 1807, then a colonel on 1 December 1809. He fought against the French, then took their side in 1796, participated in the second Italian campaign in 1800, in the Russian campaign in 1812, and in the defence of the Kingdom in 1813-14 (cf.
