Lasinio

Basilio Lasinio (Treviso, 15 March 1766 – Neversa della Battaglia, 26 June 1832)


Son of a jurist, he had joined the Venetian infantry in 1791 as a second lieutenant; his regiment passed over to the Cisalpine Republic and he was promoted to captain in 1797. He was admitted to the topographer corps on 8 January 1801, then became comandante d’armi in 1809 and commander of the company of sapeurs-pompiers in 1812. With the Restoration, he served in the Austrian army until 1820. He was a painter and illustrator of battles throughout his military career (cf.
