Feroggio

Angelo Feroggio (Turin, 13 February 1775 – Bayonne, 1827)


Feroggio joined the Piedmontese engineering corps as a volunteer, being immediately promoted to second lieutenant. In 1797 he passed into the pontooners, then the following year was admitted to the Cisalpine miners as a lieutenant 1st class. He entered the engineering corps as a captain 2nd class in 1801, then was promoted to captain 1st class on 16 October 1807 and to battalion chief on 25 November 1810. He served at the Rocca d’Anfo, under LiĆ©dot in Dalmatia, going on to become subdirector at Osoppo. In 1815 he moved to France and was naturalized as a French citizen (see MSA, WO 1533, 543, SHD, 2Ye 1499).
