Nicolas Marie Songis des Courbons (Troyes, 23 April 1761 – Paris, 27 December 1810)
A nobleman, he made a career in the artillery, serving in the First Italian Campaign and in Egypt, where he was promoted to lieutenant general in 1800. He was appointed first inspector general of the artillery from 1 February 1805 to 15 June 1809. He was decorated as Grand Eagle of the Legion of Honour in 1805 and as a knight of the iron Crown in 1806.
