Pascal-Vallongue

Joseph Sécret Pascal-Vallongue (Sauve, 14 April 1763 – Castelleone, 17 June 1806)


As an officer in the military engineers, he served in Egypt, going on to become an influential deputy Director of the War Depot from 1801 to 1806. His questionary for the memoirs of the geographical engineers, dated 19 pluviôse year X (9 February 1802), was published in: Puissant, Louis. 1807. Traité de topographie, d’arpentage et de nivellement. Paris: chez Courcier: 285-295. Promoted to brigadier in 1805, he died after being wounded at the siege of Gaeta.
