Jean Claude Éléonore le Michaud d’Arçon (Pontarlier, 18 November 1733 – Auteuil, 1 July 1800)
Studied at the Mézières school, leaving it as an engineer in 1755. Participated in the Seven Years War, being promoted to captain in 1763. Became a major in 1777, lieutenant colonel in 1779, colonel in 1782, brigadier and fortifications inspector in 1791. He participated in the campaign of 1793, being promoted to lieutenant general. In 1796 he was employed as a commissioner for the demolition of the Piedmontese fortresses, in 1799 he was named a senator.
