D’Aboville

François-Marie d’Aboville (Brest, 23 January 1730 – Paris, 1 November 1817)


A nobleman, veteran of the War of the Austrian Succession, of the Seven Years War and of the American War of Independence, d’Aboville fought in the Revolutionary Wars, becoming a lieutenant general in 1793, in the same year he was suspended and arrested, then reintegrated in 1794. He was named first Inspector General from 5 January 1800 to 14 September 1802, and then was appointed to the Senate.
