Giovanni Battista Fe
Born in Lugano, he entered the Lombard artillery as a lieutenant on 20 May 1797. After an examination, he became captain 2nd class in the Cisalpine military engineers on 4 April 1798, then was promoted to captain 1st class on 6 October 1803 and to battalion chief on 12 December 1808, but retired from military service one week later. He was subdirector in Mantua, Pizzighettone, Ferrara, Brescia, where he contributed to building the Rocca d’Anfo, and Peschiera (Cf. MSA, WO 1525, 1828, 543, OR 90).
